KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Financial Planning Manager will support the Senior Director of Finance and be responsible for the design and execution of the annual financial planning cycle, as well as analysis of performance against the plan. Development of our five-year Capital Expenditure plan and ensuring adherence to the plan is another key responsibility. This position is also responsible for working with the Senior Director of Finance on the development of our financial and operational systems. An important attribute for this position is the ability to serve and support the various ministries of Grace Church. Specifically:

Financial Planning Cycle:
  • Design, Improve, Execute the Annual Financial Planning Cycle.
  • Measure performance to the plan and analyze variances.
  • Build meaningful relationships across our various ministries and departments.
  • Report out monthly to departments regarding their financial management outcomes.

Capital Expenditure Management:
  • Develop, and track performance against, the 5-Year Capital Plan.
  • Track and report on individual larger capital projects to plan and budget.

Reporting and Metrics:
  • Provide analysis of key metrics, including developing management information dashboards.
  • Prepare financial presentation materials for FMC, MLT, BOE reviews.
  • Provide Attendance and Giving reports.
  • Assist Sr Director of Finance in serving the ministries on various projects.

Systems Development:
  • Develop our financial and operating systems, improving efficiency and availability of reliable, consistent information.
PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS:
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Education: 4-year Accounting or Finance degree, Advanced Degree Preferred.
  • Demonstrates a continuous improvement in mindset and behavior in practice.
  • Knowledge areas: Accounting & Management Information Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Financial Planning & Reporting Requirements.
  • Strong relational & communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and discern the right way forward.
  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
  • Has a commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:18-20).
  • Has demonstrated skills in relating to and working with people, especially volunteers, church staff, the congregation and others, within a team environment.
  • Has demonstrated a spiritual capacity and heart willingness to view this ministry as being a ministry unto the Lord, by serving the body of Grace Church.
