KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Grace Beginnings Academy Preschool Teacher is passionate about guiding and caring for 3–4-year-olds in a Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate partners with parents, and supports each child’s growth in their physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development. The teacher plans and implements lessons aligned with the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress that are Biblically based and rooted in play. This is a full-time, year-round position with an 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. schedule.
- Create a Christ-centered learning environment for children ages 3-4 years.
- Provide educational experiences in the classroom which demonstrate an understanding of learning domains, Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and assessments.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of the students in the classroom.
- Collaborate with the Preschool Grade Level Team in planning lessons and activities throughout the school year.
- Daily communicate with families on the success, challenges and activities of the day.
- Meet regularly with parents both informally and formally throughout year to address child needs
- Conduct parent teacher conferences twice a year
- Follow the directives of the Preschool Director to maintain high standards in the classroom and provide a quality learning experience for the children
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom and assume the responsibility to complete the duties required to maintain an orderly facility
- Approach behavioral issues that arise with children with Christ-centered love, respect and patience
- Attend all required training and staff meetings throughout the year.
- Attend all school community events throughout the year, even if outside schedule hours
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential requirement of this position
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice for teaching children from 3 to 5 years of age.
- Maintains licensing compliance

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS:
- Educational requirements: CDA, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
- Experience required: Must meet the licensing guidelines for lead qualification.
- Physically able to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
- Able to see and hear clearly, stay at children’s level, and actively engage to ensure their safety.
- Has a heart and mission to reach the next generation with the Gospel.
- Can clearly articulate the Gospel to a young child.
- Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
- Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations.
